Engine and trans
351 Cleveland with factory 4V heads. This engine has had some minor upgrades. The stock cam has been replaced with a mild street cam (not race cam) that adds a little extra HP. The intake manifold has been changed to a Weiand 7517. The exhaust manifolds has been changed to headers then goes to the orignial style Anza exhaust, chrome on tips still look good. I believe the carb is a Carter 750 CFM. The engine does retain the orignial distributer. The upper water pipe is chrome (chrome is weak) water tanks are chrome, look fair. I believe the engine to produce 350 to 375 HP. The engine runs good, no smoking and does not seem to burn any oil.
The ZF transmission has been removed, cleaned and professionally polished and reinstalled ( I would guess this was done 3 or 4 years ago) . It has a Hall Chrome vent tube. Transmission shifts smooth with no problems.
The A/C shroud has upgraded chrome cover and shows well.
Paint and body
I would guess the paint to be 4 to 5 years old. It looks very nice even up to about 5 feet away. On close inspection there are several minor cracks in the paint (these are minor and you really have to look for them). On the front drivers fender there is a "spider crack" in the paint. It appears that a rock from the tire was thrown on the inside of the fender. There is no dent, but see picture of spider crack. Even at 3 feet, this crack is difficult to see. The body is pretty straight, not show perfect but very nice for a good clean driver. On very close inspection I can see where very small amounts of filler was used in the wheel archs ( about 2 inches) again very difficult to notice unless you know what to look for.
Rockers, sills, floors and sub frame look very solid. Floors have the old factory undercoating. This car spent most of its life between California and New Mexico (very dry areas). Panteras are known for body flexing and twisting that causes paint cracking and chipping, this car shows no problems with that which indicates it has had an easy life. All 4 bumpers have been rechromed (front bumpers not 100% perfect but still look very good). Front signal lens are good, backs also good with no cracks in plastic. Front hood has the Hall Pantera Hood Vents, nice upgrade and was done well.
Interior and front trunk
One of the best parts of this car, the interior has been professionally redone in Connoly Leather. The stitching on the dash shows a high level of skill and custom work. The door pannels, seats, dash, rear firewall cover and center console are all matching tan hides that really show well on this car. The carpet is Wilton Wool and complement the interior work very well. The headliner has also been replaced to match the interior. I would estimate this to be a 6 to 7 thousand dollar upgrade. There is very little signs of wear, just a touch on the side upright of the drivers seat. All gauges, tach and speedo work as well as lights (except back up lights) wipers and hazard switch and power windows all work. The A/C has a upgraded compressor but is not all connected, it is not currently working.
Front trunk has been recarpeted and looks good, again not perfect but still nice. The car has upgraded brake master cylinder, it is GM (General Motors master cylinder) very important upgrade if you plan on stopping the car. The brake booster still has good cad plating and looks nice.
Misc.
Tires all have good tread and do not show signs of rot or cracking. Wheels are orignial and have been reconditioned. The car runs and drives straight, it is Very Quick!!. In my personal opinion I feel that the brakes are a bit weak, would benifit from some steel braded brake lines. The rubber boot that covers the steering rack will need replaced. Suspension feels pretty good but would benifit from new rubber inserts. Steering is pretty tight, car does not drift on the road, it tracks straight. Some people like the stock distributer, I think the car would benifit from going to electronic distributer. There is no raido in this car but does have a roof antenna if you wish to install a stereo.
General
This car is good for local car shows or just fun to drive. The car is not a full on show car, nor is it priced as a show car
